Vice President of Compliance Training and Information

Bill Berg has been with the League of Southeastern Credit Unions (formerly the Florida Credit Union League) since 1988 and currently serves as the Vice President of Compliance Training and Information. Prior to joining the League, Bill worked for eleven years for the Federal Reserve of Atlanta – Jacksonville Branch. He is in his 39th year working in the financial industry.

Bill answers technical/regulatory questions via the telephone or through email; provides customized training to credit unions, chapters, and other groups; and was one of the principal authors of and is the editor of the Bankruptcy and Collections and Board of Directors Channels for InfoSight (The LSCU’s Online Compliance System) and facilitates planning sessions for credit unions. He was the speaker at the CUNA/NASCUS Bank Secrecy Act conference in Ft. Lauderdale and will be speaking again at this conference in San Antonio, TX.

Achievements and Services

Authored Disaster and Business Continuity Planning for Credit Unions and has presented excerpts of it in Las Vegas, Nevada; San Antonio, Texas; Biloxi, Mississippi; Albany, New York; Columbia, Maryland; and throughout Florida and Alabama;

Speaker at the Iowa Credit Union League’s annual meeting in Des Moines, Iowa; and the NASCUS State Summit in Coeur d’Alene, ID; CUNA’s Regulatory Compliance Schools in Savannah, Georgia; San Diego, California; Atlanta, Georgia; Chicago, Illinois; and Seattle, Washington; and at AACUL’s Consulting and Planning Conferences on strategic planning in San Diego, California and St. Petersburg, Florida; and

Bill holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with double majors in Finance and Real Estate and a Master of Business Administration Degree with a concentration in Finance from Florida State University. Bill received his Certified Credit Union Executive (CCUE) designation with Honors in 1997, Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) designation in 2000, BSA Compliance Specialist (BSACS) Certification in 2006 and recertified this in 2014, and Credit Union Enterprise Risk Management Expert (CUERME) designation in 2015.
